Destination: Mandalay - Inwa - Amarapura - Mingun - Sagaing - Monywa - Pakkoku - Bagan - Mt. Popa - Heho - Kalaw - Inle - Indien - Yangon

Day 01: Arrive Mandalay

Traditionally welcome on arrival at Mandalay and assisted transfer to the hotel. Have a rest there before starting a short excursion to city center and Yangon river front. Overnight Mandalay.

 

Day 02: Mandalay - Inwa - Amarapura

Drive to Inwa, located at the confluence of the Ayeyarwaddy River and Myitnge River. Cross the Myitnge River by boat, taking a horse cart along the bumpy road to visit the ruins of the old royal capital includes the watch tower, Tower of old Royal Palace,  Mahaaungmyebonzan Monastery, Brick and Stucco Monastery, Bargaya Monastery.

Later drive to drive to Amarapura and visit U Bein bridge, the world’s longest teak wood bridge across the Taungthaman Lake, an ideal place to enjoy the sunset. Return to Mandalay Overnight at Mandalay.

 

Day 03: Excursion to Mingun (By Boat)

After breakfast, transfer to take Jetty from Mandalay to reach Mingun and enjoy the sightseeing and visit Pathodawgyi, Mingun bell, Myatheindan pagoda. Later return to Mandalay. Afternoon visit Mandalay Royal Palace, Atumashi Monastery, Shwenandaw Monastery, Kuthodaw Pagoda, and Mandalay Hill to view the sunset. Stay overnight Mandalay.

 

Day 04: Mandalay – Sagaing – Monywa

Today visit Sagaing, a former capital of Shan Kingdom and Myanmar Kingdom. Also visit the Sagaing hill by trucks, Soonooponyashin Pagoda, Uminthonese Pagoda, a thirty man made caves pagoda. Other highlights include silver smith and Kaunghmudaw pagoda – the gigantic stupa represent paddy heap.

After lunch drive to Monywa. Arrive Monywa and check in at the hotel. Afternoon, we will cross the Chindwin River and take the jeep or pick-up truck drive to reach Poe Win hill caves – an interesting area with the caves containing ancient sculptures, mural paintings dating from 17th and 18th centuries. Return to Monywa. Stay overnight at Monywa.

 

 Day 05: Monywa – Pakkoku – Bagan (By Boat)

After breakfast, drive to Monywa, we will stop at Thanbod Pagoda – an unusual Buddhist temple with over 500,000 Buddha images. Visit one thousand Bodhi trees complex where you will see the elegant standing, reclining and lying Buddha statues are being built.

From there another three and half hour drive to Pakkoku, the big town of Ahnyar, you can see Ahnyar people - their land and climate, their culture and product. Arrive Pakkoku where we will take a boat sailing down to Bagan for two hours. Stay overnight at Bagan.

 

Day 06: Bagan City Tour

Enjoy the sightseeing tour of Bagan, one of the Asia’s most popular archaeological destinations and one out of two most pre-eminent religious old cities in South East Asia and visit Nyaung Oo market – a typical local market followed by visits to Shwezigon Pagoda – the holiest one believed to be enshrined with Buddha tooth and hair; Gubyaukgyi Temple (Wetkyiinn village) – the 13th century ‘cave temple’ with fine frescoes of scenes from Jakatas; Anada Temple – one of the masterpieces surviving and remaining in Bagan and considered to be in the Mon architecture style.

Afternoon visit a lacquer ware factory followed by a visit to local village. Before the sundown, we would take a boat ride along the Ayeyarwaddy River to view the sunset and relax. Stay overnight at Bagan.

 

Day 07: Excursion to Mt. Popa

After breakfast travel Mt. Popa; the popularity of Mt. Popa lies in the interest of religious and mystical beliefs as an abode of spirits, “Nats”. Climb the Taungkalat, believed to be the part of the main volcano blown apart and plugged at the current location, to see the panoramic view of the whole area. On the way back to Bagan we will visit the toddy palm producing home cottage. Stay overnight at Bagan.

 

Day 08: Bagan – Heho (By Flight) – Kalaw

Arrive Heho with the afternoon flight. Drive about 45min to Kalaw, an old British hill resort stands at the altitude of 1,315 meters, is also known as Pine Land because of its abundant in pine trees. The sightseeing includes: Shweumin natural caves; taking along the up-down meandering roads of Kalaw to have the panoramic view of Kalaw; old colonial style buildings from a hillock opposite of Kalaw. Overnight at Kalaw

 

Day 09: Kalaw – Inle

After breakfast, drive to Inle Lake, one of the magical lakes in Myanmar located 900 meters above sea level surrounded by beautiful mountains of Shan plateau. Visit Phaungdawoo Pagoda, Ngaphechaung monastery; also known as jumping cat monastery, including other attractions: unique leg-rowing style and fishing method of the Inthar, floating gardens used as vegetable plantations, silk and cotton weaving cottages and black smith. Stay overnight at Inle Lake.

 

Day 10: Inle – Indien

Today we explore the southern part of the Lake by boat sailing through twisting and turning creeks to reach Indein village. This village located on the southwestern bank of the lake is famous for its ruined clusters of pagodas dated back to 16th century. The tranquil peaceful ambience and the ruins overgrown with bushes will bring you centuries back.

Ywa-Ma village, gold and silversmith workshop. In the evening, enjoy the sunset while visiting the Inle Lake by boat. Overnight at Inle Lake.

 

Day 11: Inle – Yangon (By Flight)

After breakfast, transfer to airport to fly to Yangon. Upon arrival at Yangon, visit to city center, Sule Pagoda ,the landmark of downtown Yangon, followed by Kandawgyi Lake for photographing the panoramic view of the lake overlooking the Shwedagon Pagoda.

Afternoon visit to Bogyoke Market formerly Scott Market, also take a a walk at Chinatown area, the bustle point of Yangon. Enjoy viewing at Shwedagon Pagoda, an inspiring golden stupa which is one of the best landmarks in Myanmar. Stay overnight at Yangon.

 

Day 12: Yangon Depart

After leisurely breakfast at the hotel transfer to the airport for the international flight for your onward destination.
