Day 01: Arrive Mandalay

Arrive Mandalay by flight. Meet and assistance on arrival b Travel Consortium India tour executive. Transfer to the hotel. Overnight Mandalay.

 

Day 02: Mandalay – Mingun (By Boat) - Mandalay

After breakfast at the hotel. From the Mandalay Gawwein jetty, we will take a short boat ride up river to reach Mingun, located at the other side of the Ayeyarwaddy River and north of Mandalay. The boat ride is always pleasant as one can learn the ways of local life along the river. Sightseeing highlights includes Pathodawgyi, believed to be one of the largest brick base in the world and it would be one of the wonders of the world in case if it was completed; Mingun bell, said to be world’s biggest un-cracked ringing bell and Myatheindan pagoda, represents for Buddhist cosmology. Return to Mandalay.

Afternoon sightseeing includes Mandalay Royal Palace – a well planned palace located at the heart of toDAY’s Mandalay city; Atumashi Monastery, originDayy believed to be the best teak wood monastery in architecture and art works until it was burnt down and nowaDAYs a new building of similar prototype exists there; Shwenandaw monastery, still existing masterpiece of last Myanmar kingdom’s architecture in teak and wood carving; Kuthodaw Pagoda, renowned as the world’s largest book; and Mandalay Hill, regarded a natural watch tower in the plain region of Mandalay, to view the sunset. Overnight Mandalay.

 

Day 03: Excursion to Amarapura & Inwa

After breakfast at the hotel. Drive to Amarapura, former Royal capital of Myanmar but the suburb of Mandalay nowaDAYs. Highlights include Mahargandaryone monastery, a typical monastic school; U Bein bridge, the world’s longest teak wood bridge across the Taungthamanlake and silk weaving factory.

Drive to Inwa in the afternoon, formerly known as AVA, a former Royal capital of Myanmar located at the confluence of the Ayeyarwaddy River and Myitnge River. After crossing the Myitnge River by smDay boat, taking a horse cart along the bumpy road to visit the ruins of the old royal capital includes the watch tower, the 27 meter tDay leaning tower of old royal palace; Mahaaungmyebonzan monastery, the impressive brick and stucco monastery; Bargaya monastery, a splendid teak wood monastery with wood curving. Return to Mandalay.  Overnight at Mandalay.

 

Day 04: Mandalay – Sagaing - Monywa

After breakfast at the hotel drive to Monywa, about 130 km to the north-east of Mandalay. Enroutevisit Sagaing, a former capital of Shan Kingdom and Myanmar Kingdom. Sagaing nowaDAYs is renowned as the religious center of Myanmar because of over 400 monasteries spreading throughout the hillocks. After crossing the Inwa bridge (also cDayed Sagaing Bridge), one can visit the Sagaing hill by trucks. The highlights include Soonooponyashin Pagoda, silver smith and Kaunghmudaw pagoda – the gigantic stupa represent paddy heap.

Drive to Monywa, situated on the east bank of Chindwin River. Visit ThanbodDAY Pagoda – an unusual Buddhist temple with over 500,000 Buddha images. Visit one thousand Bodhi trees complexwhere you will see the elegant standing, reclining and lying Buddha statues are being built. Overnight Monywa.

 

Day 05: Monywa – Poe Win Hill – Pakkoku - Bagan

After breakfast at the hotel and after that we would cross the Chindwin river and take the jeep or pickup truck drive to reach Poe Win hill caves – an interesting area with the caves containing ancient sculptures, mural paintings dating from 17th and 18th centuries.

From there another 3 ½ hours’ drive to Pakkoku, another big town of Ahnyar, could observe Ahnyar people, their land and climate, culture and product. Take a boat sailing down to Bagan for two hours. Overnight Bagan.

 

Day 06: Bagan City Tour

After breakfast at the hotel visit Bagan, one of Asia’s most popular archaeological destinations and one out of two most pre-eminent religious old cities in South East Asia. The sightseeing starts with a visit to NyaungOo market – a typical local market; followed by visits to most distinctive pagodas such as Shwezigon Pagoda – the holiest one believed to be enshrined with Buddha tooth and hair; Gubyaukgyi Temple (Wetkyiinn village) – the 13th century ‘cave temple’ with fine frescoes of scenes from Jakatas; Anada Temple – one of the masterpieces surviving and remaining in Bagan and considered to be in the Mon architecture style.

Afternoon visit to the lacquer ware factory followed by a visit to local village. Before sunset, we would take a boat ride along the Ayeyarwaddyriver to discover the local life and view the sunset. Overnight Bagan.

 

Day 07: Excursion to Mt. Popa

After breakfast at the hotel. Drive to Mt. Popa - an extinct volcano at 65km south east of Bagan in the plain region of middle Myanmar and as the one of National parks in Myanmar with preserved forest. It serves as a smDay oasis in the hot, dry plain of Myanmar. The popularity of Mt. Popa toDAY lies in the interest of religious and mystical beliefs as an abode of spirits, “Nats”. Climb the Taungkalat – believed to be the part of the main volcano blown apart and plugged at the current location. On the way back to Bagan we would visit the toddy palm producing local home cottage.

Evening visit to Dhamayangyi Temple – the most massive, significant monument in Bagan with finest mortar-less brickwork; Sulamani Temple – close to the Dhamayangyi temple with more sophisticated style of later Bagan temple. Overnight Bagan.

 

Day 08: Bagan – Heho (By Flight) Pindaya - Kalaw

After breakfast at the hotel. Fly to Heho. Arrive Heho and drive to Pindaya a historic town situated about two and a half hours drive from Inle Lake passing through PhaO and Danu villages.En-route for photo stops. Pindaya caves – natural lime stone caves not only with numerous stalactites and stalagmites but also filled with about 8000 various sizes of Buddha images believed to be there since 11th century; famous Botoloke Lake. Ethnic groups like Shan, PaO and Danu are living environs of PinDAYa and the place nowaDAYs is also famous for traditional style Shan paper making and Shan umbrella making.

Drive to Kalaw from PinDAYa, about 2 hours, an old British hill resort stands on the altitude of 1,315m above the sea level – also known as Pine Land because of its abundant in pine trees. The sightseeing includeShweumin natural caves; taking along the up-down meandering roads of Kalaw. Have the panoramic view of Kalaw; old colonial style buildings from a hillock opposite of Kalaw. Overnight Kalaw.

 

Day 09: Kalaw - Inle

After breakfast at the hotel drive to Inle, the second biggest natural lake and one of the most popular tourist destinations in Myanmar.Driving hours will take about two hours. ArriveInle and relex at the hotel. Overnight Inle.

 

Day 10: Inle City Tour

After breakfast at the hotel.Visit Inle Lake exists 900 meters above the sea level and the home land of Inthar tribe. Visit the regional once in every fifth DAY market takes place around the different area of the Inle Lake if toDAY coincides with the market DAY. Phaungdawoo Pagoda – famous for its richly gilded five smDay Buddha images and its history; Ngaphechaung monastery (formerly also known as jumping cat monastery for trained jumping cats) – more than one and a half century old monastery with its collection of ancient Buddha Images. Other attractions include unique leg-rowing style and fishing method of the Innthar; floating gardens and vegetable plantations; and weaving factory and black smith. Overnight Inle Lake.

 

Day 11: Inle – Indien / Heho – Mandalay (By Flight)

Breakfast at the hotel. Take the boat to the down south and into a twist and turn creek running into the lake, we would reach the Indein village– a smDay village located at the south western bank of the lake and famous for its ruined clusters of pagodas dated back to 16th century. The tranquility, peaceful ambience and ruins overgrown with bushes would bring you to centuries back. One can also have the chance to chat with villagers during the sightseeing time. Transfer to the airport for the flight back to Mandalay. Overnight Mandalay.

 

Day 12: Mandalay Departure

After leisurely breakfast at the hotel transfer to the airport for the international flight for your onward destination.
