Destination: Paro - Thimphu - Trongsa - Bumthang - Punakha - Paro

Day 01: Arrive Paro - Thimphu

Meet our airport representative on arrival at the airport who will welcome you in Bhutani Nepali traditional style and you will be transferred to Thimphu. Arrive and check in at the hotel. Afternoon visit the Memorial Chorten and the School of Arts & Crafts, The 169-feet bronze statue of Buddha Dordenma. The Vajra Throne Buddha, symbolizing indestructibility. Later visit Tashichho Dzong (Fortress of the Glorious Religion).  Stay two nights in at hotel Thimphu.

 

Day 02: Thimphu

After breakfast, we will drive to Punakha, an approximate 2hrs.30 mins the ex-capital of Bhutan to have a glimpse of the Punakha Dzong and the first buil Shabdrung in 1637. On the way visit take a stop at Metshina Village with short walk through the lush rice fields towards Chhimi Lhakhang, a fertility temple. Reach Punakha and check in at the hotel for overnight stay.

 

Day 03: Thimphu - Trongsa

After an early breakfast, drive down to Trongsa through streams, forests and small villages before crossing the Pele la Pass. Arrive Trongsa and check in at the hotel, Evening explore the town and stay overnight at Trongsa for overnight stay.

 

Day 04: Trongsa - Bumthang

After breakfast visit the Trongsa Dzong, the most emphatic dzong in Bhutan, built by Chogyal Minjur Tempa, the emissary sent by Shabdrung to appease eastern Bhutan and drive to Bumthang via Yongtala & Kilakha passes. Arrive Bumthang, check in at the hotel and visit  Bhutanese Carpet Factory, the Jakar Dzong Lamey Goemba, Jambay Lhakhang, In the month of October, the colorful festival, 'Jambay Lhakhang Drup' unfolds at this very temple. Visit Chakhar (Iron Castle) Lhakhang, it is the site of the palace of the Indian King, the Sindhu Raja who invited Guru Rimpoche to Bumthang. Also visit Kurjey Lhakhang, Tamshing Lhakhang (Temple of the good message). In the evening, visit Membarstho which literally means, "The burning Lake". Stay overnight at the hotel in Bumthang.

 

Day 05: Bumthang - Punakha

After breakfast, we will drive to Punakha, the ex-capital of Bhutan to have a glimpse of the Punakha Dzong and the first buil Shabdrung in 1637. On the way visit take a stop at Metshina Village with short walk through the lush rice fields towards Chhimi Lhakhang, a fertility temple and visit Simtokha Dzong the oldest fortress in Bhutan. Reach Punakha and check in at the hotel and visit Punakha’s Dzong. Stay overnight at the hotel in Punakha.

 

Day 06: Punkha - Paro

After breakfast, drive to Paro. Arrive Paro, check in at the hotel and visit around the Paro valley and visit Ta Dzong which houses the National Museum, the ruins of Drugyel Dzong and the courtyard of 7th century old Kichu Lhakhang. Stay overnight at hotel.

 

Day 07: Paro

After early breakfast proceed to for an excursion to Haa valley via Chele-la pass (4200 meters). Enjoy the superb views of Mount from Chomolhari & Jichu Drakey, take walk around for few minutes enjoying the view and drive on to Haahe Haa Dzong is presently occupied by military, but the view from outside is stunning. Reach Haa valley and visit the famous Monastery Lhakhang Karpo (White Temple) followed by visit Lhakhang Nagpo (Black Temple). In the afternoon drive back to Paro take 3 hours. Stay overnight at the hotel in Paro.

 

Day 08: Paro Departure

On final day after breakfast assisted transfer to the airport to board your flight for an onward journey.
