Destination: Delhi - Agra - Varanasi - Sarnath - Bodhgaya- Rajgir - Nalanda - Patna - Vaishali - Kushinagar - Lumbini - Sravasti - Lucknow - Delhi

DAY 01 : Arrive Delhi

Arrival at New Delhi International airport. Meeting and Greeting at the airport. Transfer to hotel and Overnight stay at Delhi Hotel.

 

Day 02: Delhi

After breakfast enjoy the sightseeing tour of New and Old Delhi. Start from Old Delhi reach Red Fort for drive pass visit, and enjoy the Cycle rickshaw ride to visit Chandni Chowk the beauty of Old Delhi. Visit Jama Masjid, Raj Ghat , Gandhi Memorial and continue proceed to visit New Delhi visit India Gate with Other Secretariat Bulidingds,  Humayun Tomb and visit Qutub Minar. Return to the hotel and stay overnight.

 

Day 03: Delhi - Agra

After breakfast travel to Agra.  On arrival visit Agra Fort & Itimad-Ud-Daulah. In the evening visit the unforgettable musical theatre “Mohabbat The Taj”. Stay overnight at the hotel in Agra.

 

Day 04: Agra -Varanasi (By Flight)

After breakfast transfer to airport for flight to Varanasi. On arrival transfer for the hotel for check-in. In the evening witness Aarti prayer ceremony on the Ghats of river Ganges. Return and stay two nights at the hotel in Varanasi.

 

Day 05 : Varanasi - Sarnath - Varanasi

Morning enjoy the Boat ride on river Ganges and visit the Ghats. Later visit Sarnath, the place where Lord Buddha gave his first sermon. Afternoon enjoy the city tour visiting various temples including The Vishwanath Temple, built by the Birlas, was planned by Pandit Madan Mohan Malaviya. The Bharat Mata Temple houses, instead of gods and goddesses, a huge relief map in marble of the whole of Indian subcontinent. The Tulsi Manas Temple, built in 1964, is dedicated to Lord Rama. Overnight stay at the hotel.

 

Day 06 : Varanasi – Bodhgaya (242 kms / 7 hrs.)

Leave Varanasi for Bodhgaya, enroute visit Sarnath- The buried Buddhist city where Lord Buddha gave his First Sermon. Visit Buddhist temple, Stupas, Museum and ruins. On arrival at Bodhgaya, transfer to hotel. Bodhgaya- the place where Lord Buddha attained Enlightenment under the sacred Bodhi Tree. Overnight in Bodhgaya

 

Day 07 : Bodhgaya

After breakfast start sightseeing tour of Bodhgaya visiting Mahabodhi Temple - depicting the various phases of Buddha's journey, Bodhgaya Archaeological Museum - houses a small collection of Buddhist sculpture, Jagannath Temple close by has a four armed statue of Shiva in black stone. Overnight stay at the hotel.

 

Day 08 : Bodhgaya - Rajgir - Nalanda – Patna (182 kms / 6 hrs)  

Morning leave Bodhgaya for Patna enroute visiting Rajgir & Nalanda. Rajgir is a site of great sanctity and significance for Buddhists. Afternoon visit Gridhakuta Hill, Bimbisara jail. Drive to Nalanda the oldest Universities of the World & International Centre for Buddhist Studies. Later drive to Patna. On arrival check  in at the hotel in Patna for overnight stay.

 

Day 09 : Patna - Vaishali – Kushinagar (253 kms - 8 hrs)

After breakfast drive for Kushinagar en-route visiting Vaishali -located 55 whre the Buddha announced the approaching of his Mahaparinirvana. Visit Ashokan Pillar - the magnificent Ashokan pillar with a lion adorning its top is a definite crowd-puller. Arrive Kushinagar. It is the place where Buddha passed into Maha-Parinirvana. Afternoon visit the various stupas and temples. Overnight at hotel.

 

Day 10 : Kushinagar - Lumbini – Sravasti  (355 kms - 6 hrs)

Leave Kushinagar by road for Lumbini - the birthplace of Buddha and is located just a few kilometres inside Nepal. Sightseeing tour of Lumbini and thereafter leave for Sravasti by road. On arrival transfer to hotel and overnight stay.

 

Day 11 : Saravasti - Sahet & Mahet – Lucknow (220 kms - 5 hrs)

Morning visit to Sahet & Mahet -15 kms from Balrampur and the capital of the ancient Kingdom of Kosala. Sravasti has the honour for sheltering Buddha for 24 rainy seasons in the Jetvana Vihar and has the famous Anand Bodhi tree, age-old stupas, majestic monasteries and several temples. Buddha is said to have performed some miracles here. Later drive to Lucknow. On arrival check in at the hotel for overnight stay.

 

Day 12: Lucknow

After breakfast, enjoy the sightseeing city wour of Nawab’s visiting Bada Imambara a famous monument of Lucknow that has historical, cultural and heritage importance, Asfi mosque, the Bhul-Bhulayah (the labyrinth) and a summer palace with running water and  Government Museum and Banarasi Bagh area of Lucknow.

 

Day 13 : Lucknow – Delhi Departure

After breakfast transfer to Airport to board the flight to Delhi from where you will catch the connected flight for onward journey.
