Duration: 11 Nights / 12 Days
Destination: Paro - Thimphu - Punakha - Wangduephodrang - Gangtey - Trongsa - Bumthang - Wangduephodrang - Haa Valley - Paro

Day 01: Arrive Paro

Meet our airport representative on arrival at the airport who will welcome you in Bhutani traditional style and transfer to the hotel. Arrive and check in at the hotel. Stay overnight at hotel in Paro.

 

Day 02: Paro

After breakfast, visit Ta Dzong (National Museum) and visit Rinpung.  Afternoon visit Drugyel dzong, Ta-Dzong and explore local culture and history. Later visit a traditional farm house which offers good insight into lifestyle of local people. Evening visit of Kyichu Lhakhang, one of the oldest and most sacred shrines of the Kingdom. Stay overnight at the hotel in Paro.

 

Day 03: Paro - Thimphu (60 km / 2 hours)

After breakfast proceed to Thimphu. En route stop at Chuzom, where Paro River joins Thimphu River. Also visit Simtokha Dzong, the oldest fortress of the Kingdom now which is converted into a School for Buddhist studies. Arrive and check in at the hotel. In the afternoonvisit King's Memorial Chhorten and Trashichhodzong, beautiful medieval monastery, Handicrafts Emporium, Textile and Folk Heritage Museum  and local market. Stay overnight at the hotel in Thimphu.

 

Day 04: Thimphu - Punakha (70 km / 3 hours)

After breakfast, visit National Library, Painting School and Traditional Medicine Institute. In the afternoon drive to Punakha, the old capital town of Bhutan. En route stop at Dochula pass (3,050m) that heralds the most enchanting views of Bhutan. Arrive Punakha and check into the hotel. Evening visit Punakha Dzong, the fortress of 17th century and Khamsm Yulley Namgyal Chhorten. Stay overnight at the hotel in Punakha.

 

Day 05: Punakha - Wangduephodrang - Gangtey (70 km / 3 hours)

After breakfast drive to Gangtey stop at Wangduephodrang and visit majestic Wangdue Dzong and local market. Further continue drive to through dense forests and oak, rhododendron tress. Arrive Gangtey and check in at the hotel, in the evening visit  Gangtey village and Gangtey Gompa. Stay overnight in Gangtey.

 

Day 06: Gangtey - Trongsa (120 km / 4 ½ hours)

Aftre breakfast explore Phobjikha valley, famous for Black Necked Cranes. Afternoon drive to Trongsa crossing 3,300m high. Arrive Trongsa and check in at the hotel for overnight stay.

 

Day 07: Trongsa - Bumthang (70 km / 3 hours)

After breakfast, visit Trongsa Dzong, the master piece of Bhutanese architecture and see Ta Dzong, The clock tower, built to defend this Dzong and surrounding region. Afternoon drive to Bumthang, the religious heartland of the nation. Arrive Bumthang and check in at the hotel for overnight stay.

 

Day 08: Bumthang

Bumthang, the name given to combination of four valleys – Chumey, Choekhor, Tang and Ura with altitude varying from 2,600m to 4,000m. The home of many prominent Buddhist temples and monasteries. Visit Tamshing Lhakhang, and Jakar Dzong. In the afternoon visit Kurje Lhakhang, Jambay Lhakhang. Stay overnight at the hotel in Bumthang.

 

Day 09: Bumthang - Wangduephodrang (205 km / 7 hours)

After breakfast, visit Bumthang market and drive to Wangdue. Arrive and check in at the hotel. Evening is free to stroll around Wangdue town, visiting shops, local market and mingling with people. Stay overnight at the hotel in Wangduephodrang.

 

Day 10: Wangduephodrang / Paro (75 km / 3 hours)

After breakfast, enjoy an excursion to Chimi Lhakhang, situated on a hillock in the centre of the valley, is dedicated to Lama Drukpa Kuenley, who used humour, songs and outrageous behaviour to dramatise his teachings and due to this also known as & lsquo in the late 15th century, Divine Madman'. This temple is known the temple of fertility. It is believed that couples who do not have children and wanting one, pray at this temple, they are usually blessed with a child very soon. Afteroon drive to Paro. Arrive and check in at the hotel for overnight stay.

 

Day 11: Paro (Excursion to Haa valley)

After early breakfast proceed to for an excursion to Haa valley via Chele-la pass (4200 meters). Enjoy the superb views of Mount from Chomolhari & Jichu Drakey, take walk around for few minutes enjoying the view and drive on to Haahe Haa Dzong is presently occupied by military, but the view from outside is stunning. Reach Haa valley and visit the famous Monastery Lhakhang Karpo (White Temple) followed by visit Lhakhang Nagpo (Black Temple). In the afternoon drive back to Paro take 3 hours. Stay overnight at the hotel in Paro.

 

Day 12: Depart Paro

On final day after breakfast assisted transfer to the airport to board your flight for an onward journey.
